Balancing Beauty and Biodiversity: Our New Green Commitment at Artificial Grass Yorkshire

At Artificial Grass Yorkshire, we’ve built our reputation on providing stunning, low-maintenance landscapes that look perfect 365 days a year. We know the benefits of artificial turf are endless—from ending the muddy-paw struggle to reclaiming your weekends from the lawnmower.

However, as a local business rooted in the heart of Yorkshire, we believe in being honest with our customers. While artificial grass is a fantastic solution for many, we don't hide from the fact that its installation removes natural habitats for insects and bees.

This March, we are taking a massive leap forward to ensure that while your garden gets an upgrade, the environment doesn't pay the price.

🌳 Partnering with The Tree App

We are thrilled to announce that as of March 2026, we have officially signed up with The Tree App. We wanted a way to tangibly offset the footprint of our installations, and what better way than reforestation?

The Commitment: For every 100 square metres of artificial grass we install, Artificial Grass Yorkshire will pay for a tree to be planted right here in the United Kingdom.

By keeping our planting efforts within the UK, we are helping to restore local woodland and provide long-term carbon sequestration in our own backyard. Ensuring that we offset 100% of the carbon created in the manufacturing and installation of our Artificial Grass.

🐝 Introducing: The Bee Bomb Initiative

Planting trees is a great long-term strategy, but what about the pollinators who need a home today?

While a standard natural lawn is often a "green desert" (offering very little nutritional value for bees), we want to help our customers create something better. From April, we will be sending out a range of Bee Bombs to every customer we’ve worked with since the start of 2026, and to every new customer moving forward.

Bee Bombs are handmade wildflower seed balls. When dropped into a corner of your garden or a planter, they explode into a nectar-rich habitat that is far superior for bees than a traditional mown lawn. It’s the perfect compromise: a pristine, usable lawn for you, and a wildflower haven for the bees.

🌍 Why Origin Matters: The Carbon Footprint

Sustainability isn't just about what you do after the install; it’s about where the product comes from.

A major part of our eco-conscious mission is our sourcing policy. At Artificial Grass Yorkshire, we only supply products manufactured in the UK or Europe. Many budget grasses are manufactured in and shipped from the Far East, involving thousands of miles of high-carbon sea freight.

By sourcing closer to home, we significantly reduce the carbon footprint of every roll of grass we lay, while supporting higher manufacturing standards and fairer labor practices.

A Greener Future for Yorkshire

We believe that you can have a beautiful, practical garden and still be a friend to the environment. Through our partnership with The Tree App, our Bee Bomb initiative, and our commitment to European manufacturing, we’re proud to be leading the way in responsible landscaping.

Thank you for supporting a local business that cares about the future of our landscape.
